I am the Broker-In-Charge of the Holden Beach office of Margaret Rudd & Associates. I am a North Carolina native and was born in Mt. Airy, NC...yes Mayberry to many of you! I grew up on a tobacco farm outside Dobson, NC and learned the value of hard work early. I attended Guilford College in Greensboro, graduating in 1973 with a B.A. in Education. Instead of pursuing a teaching career, I went to work for the N.C. Department of Corrections, which was both challenging and rewarding. The best reward was that I met Allan Dameron, who 25 years later would become my husband.
After a number of years living and working in Raleigh as a computer programmer, database administrator and technical trainer, mine and Allan's paths crossed again and we were married in June of 1999. Moving to the beaches of Brunswick County was an easy decision and Allan was instrumental in convincing me to pursue a career in real estate. It allowed us to work as a team and to make up for lost time.
My dear Allan passed away in December 2006 of lung cancer. I decided to continue in the real estate field. I am committed to providing an environment where individuals respect each other and work as a team and are committed to putting the consumers needs first. I am also committed to continuing Allan's legacy of giving back to the community by supporting worthwhile causes both monetarily and with my time, such as Hospice, Communities in Schools, Literacy Council, etc.
I am a member of the Brunswick County Association of Realtors, the North Carolina Association of Realtors and the National Association of Realtors. I am a Certified Real Estate Instructor and am a member of the state and national Real Estate Education Association.
I serve on the Board of Directors for NCAR's Homes4NC, have served in Board positions for our local association, serve on the Brunswick Community College Real Estate Advisory Board.
